Belgian wine is on the rise. But the journey from grape to glass doesn’t always happen at the vineyard.
On 22 September, Young Voka Brussels Metropolitan takes you behind the scenes of Gudule Winery, where winemaking gets a distinctly urban – and Brussels – twist.
Gudule brings carefully selected organic grapes from European vineyards to the capital and turns them into wine right here in Brussels. From vinification and ageing to blending and bottling: it all happens in their urban winery. Even the name is unmistakably Brussels: Gudule is a nod to Saint Gudula, one of the city’s patron saints.
Founder Thierry Lejeune will share the entrepreneurial story behind this unusual concept and take us behind the scenes of the production space to show us how urban winemaking actually works.
And then, of course, it’s time to taste the result. We’ll discover six Gudule wines, accompanied by some bites and plenty of opportunity to connect with fellow young entrepreneurs and professionals.
