During Friends of Flanders on 5 March 2020 Voka united the international expat community in Flanders and Brussels. Roberto Martínez, coach of the Belgian Red Devils was our keynote speaker and looked at the similarities between football and business.
Flanders is one of the most open economies in the world. Not only are Flemish businesses active worldwide, Flanders also harbours many international companies. This openness is celebrated each year at Friends of Flanders, by connecting high-level expats with business executives of international companies in Flanders and Brussels.
Roberto Martínez, coach of the Belgian Red Devils and an expat himself, shared his management game plan and his experience with living in Belgium. Leadership, commitment and teamwork were mentioned as key factors to success for managers, both in sports as in business.
During this special evening there was also time for networking, set against the beautiful scene of the ING Art Center. Participants were able to visit the Love. Hate. Debate expo, presenting a part of the magnificent ING art collection.
Thanks to all the Friends of Flanders!
