International enterprise

Going international with your company brings a lot with it. You suddenly have to do business in another language and with another culture. You have to deal with new regulations, formalities and documents. You have to find partners - with whom you subsequently have to conclude a contract - or the right contacts to assist you. These, and many more, are typical questions that we at Voka Limburg -Chamber of Commerce and Industry get from internationally active companies. Fortunately, we can make use of our years of experience and a large network to assist you.

Do you have a question related to doing business abroad? Then as a member of Voka Limburg - Chamber of Commerce and Industry, you can call on our free first-line advice. For example, questions concerning certain export documents, import duties of a specific product, checking the reliability of partners, contacts abroad, changes concerning brexit, etc.

The international business advisers always go to great lengths to provide you with a clear answer. If we do not have the knowledge in house, we will call on our worldwide network.

Who is who in international business?

There are various organisations and services that can support you if you want to grow internationally. Here is an overview:

  • Voka Limburg - Chamber of Commerce and Industry offers a range of training courses, networking opportunities, events and advice. Through our Voka International Ambassadors, we offer the experience of other entrepreneurs. You can contact our export desk for the Certificate of Origin, embassy endorsements and the ATA carnet (temporary export).
  • The Belgian Customs is the contact point for everything concerning permits and documents regarding preferential origin. You can reach them through their office in Hasselt. They also have a number of attachés abroad who can help with customs-related problems in specific countries.
  • Flanders Investment & Trade is the Flemish government agency that encourages companies to expand internationally. On their website, you can find a lot of market information and regulations per country. Their strength lies in the presence of local attachés in many countries, who know the market and can help interested companies with a small market study, for example.
